PROJECT 1 - LIFE KITCHEN

BACKGROUND
Life Kitchen is an award-winning not-for-profit cookery school for people whose sense of taste has been affected by cancer. When it came to light that many people with Covid-19 and Long Covid experience loss of taste, co-founders Ryan Riley and Kimberley Duke wondered what Life Kitchen could do to help. The answer was Taste & Flavour, the world’s first free cookbook for people whose enjoyment of food has been lost as a result of Covid.

HOW GOOD EGG HELPED

We can’t claim credit for the original idea of Taste & Flavour – that was Ryan and Kim’s brainwave. But a team of Good Eggs helped bring the project to life. In addition to creative input and content creation, we offered practical advice on how to make photography and video work extra hard by repurposing into multiple assets for web, Instagram and TikTok. That’s how a small budget and tight shoot schedule can stretch a long way, leaving time and money to focus on what really matters.

Good Egg provided these services:

Food and prop styling
Food photography

Video shoot & edit
Video concepts, outlines and scripts
Style guide for design direction
Distribution strategy

RESULTS

The Life Kitchen project is an example of how far one good idea can reach. The project gained worldwide attention even before its launch. It was featured in the Washington Post, picked up as an exclusive by The Sunday Telegraph, featured on radio & TV, and appeared on multiple websites including mashable.com, dailymail.co.uk, twistedfood.co.uk and wcrf-uk.org.

On the day Taste & Flavour launched, its announcement tweet was viewed by over 260k, 4000 print copies of the book were ordered and 1000s more downloaded online. Since then, lifekitchen.co.uk has had 250,000 page views and the project has achieved a total online reach of 1.1BN.

Taste & Flavour is a live project and the amazing results are still rolling in…
